Born in the US and brought up there till he was 10. Pandit spent his formative years in India (11-17) at Doon School and Jamshedpur. He was off to the US for higher studies, but was back in India in 2005. Vivek Pandit is a Senior Partner and Director at McKinsey & Company and a leader of McKinsey's Principal Investing and Education Practices. Vivek advises leading organizations on strategy, operations, corporate finance, and M&A topics across North America and Asia. Vivek is co-author of a book and several publications, including, "Transforming Learning through mEducation" (2012), "Private Equity: Is the Boom Back?" (2012), "Private Equity in Asia-Pacific" (2011).etc and several articles in the McKinsey Quarterly and leading press and business publications.

Vivek received a dual Master's degree in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1996, where he graduated as a Valentine Fellow. He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the University of California in 1992, where he graduated Magna cum Laude.

Vivek is an Aspen Institute Fellow and a Trustee of the Aspen Institute, India. He resides in Mumbai with his wife, Priyanka Seth Pandit, and their 3 children: Kaiya, Nirvaan and Tahira
