rendering farms (HP, 20013, Pg 1) positioned in
Glendale City, Redwood City, Las Vegas and India to
render and generate characters.
 HP delivered the power to render large amounts of
data
 According to HP, their ProLiant BL460c Gen8 server
blades gave DreamWorks more than 40% throughput
(rate of processing) with more than 42% improved
performance then earlier gens, increasing render
capabilities.
 HPs workstations enabled DreamWorks to create
many creatures and incredible landscapes.

on a much larger and
complex scenes
 Software optimized by Intel
 Intel helped cut production cost by helping animation
software production quicker
 Apollo software processed and collaborated from Intel
 Five years for Intel and DreamWorks to create new
software called Apollo which allowed the artist to
make real-time changes and animations to characters
 PrEMO is a tool which instantly gave the artist a large
amount of processing power that allowed them to
make changes to characters in high resolution detail
 Torch is a tool also powered by Intel that gives an
interactive asset to lighting and management.
 Allows artist to create character focus by adding or
removing lights
 Very unique
 Very quick and easy for shadow editing and lighting.
 DreamWorks partnered with Intel and HP to help
create visually sensational animations. HPs incredible
technology power and the power of Intels processing
power gave DreamWorks the upper hand to create
great films with flawless artwork and animation.
