Rogers Park in Chicago is a culturally diverse community with residents from over 80 languages and cultures, however residents often feel isolated along lines of ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and language. This isolation can negatively impact minority groups and lower overall community well-being. Existing community assets like public transportation, markets, libraries, and community gardens could be better utilized to increase interaction and integration between residents. Strategies like providing multi-lingual information and hosting culturally-relevant events would help residents learn about resources and feel a greater sense of belonging, which is important for individual and community well-being.
