1. Asthma awareness Unlike the ancient public health concerns which focus on infectious diseases and sanitation, modern societies’ health issues takes the form of chronic diseases such as heart and lung disorders. We are batch 2 respiratory therapy students, and we want to take part in public health promotion because we believe that everyone has the right to live healthy and we will try to make this happens. 2. pathphysiology and management of asthma and these points will be addressed in mini-brochures and an illustrative video.

3. we will explain and demonstrate the proper usage of asthma related devices (DPI, MDI, PEFR, etc…)

4. we will explain how different asthma drugs work in reversing or controling the bronchospasm.Our project will take place in Gharnata mall at 4 and 5/5/2011, which corresponds to asthma day. The duration of the event is 4 hours for two consecutive days. We need the following: four tables. This will cost……., unless provided by the college

Also a video will be playing with a student illustrating the content. The scene will be composed of 4 stations (to prevent crowding) and every station has a separate profile and tasks, also there will be two banner stands, one banner has information about our university and particularly our collage and program, the other is a big banner stand for graphics and picture related to the occasion behind the students. Group B: consist of 6 students, they are brochures’ content writers (both Arabic and English), brochure designer and brochure publishers (aside from the brochures that are already on the scene), the publishers will be responsible for distributing the mini brochure outside of the assigned location at the entrance gates to attract people to the scene, designer will design and edit the brochures (by adding layout or pictures or changing the font to whatever is appropriate) using computer software (photoshop, etc…). Group C: consist of 4 students and their job is to bring the necessary equipments and to do the necessary tasks, for example some students will be responsible for printing the brochures, and other students will be responsible for bringing the brochure stands, tables, projector, and respiratory devices. Contest: We’ll do a contest in which we’ll ask questions to the audience, after that we will randomly select 5 persons out of the people who answered correct and award him/her with a free dinner coupon. Back up students: some students will act as a backup if anything goes wrong, for example if a student couldn’t make it to the scene another assigned student will fill up his position, or if the load on a student was beyond expected, another student will back him up .
