Astronomy is the study of the universe, including the solar system, stars, galaxies, and nebulae. The universe contains the solar system with its eight major planets orbiting the sun, as well as stars, galaxies made up of gas, dust, stars and solar systems held together by gravity, and nebulae which are clouds of gas and dust in space. There are several theories about the origins and evolution of the universe, such as the Big Bang theory and the steady state theory. Astronomers use tools like the Hubble Space Telescope, radio telescopes, and spectroscopes to study different objects in the universe.
