The Taylor Creek Algal Turf Scrubber facility has experienced reduced performance in removing phosphorus from January 2007 to December 2008. Investigations into the causes of die-offs and lower than projected removal rates were unable to identify definitive factors. The document proposes continuing the investigation for another year and focusing on identifying substances that may be inhibiting algal growth and nutrient removal. Funding would be increased by $300,000 to extend the contract with HydroMentia by another year through January 2010.
