Dear Chairman, I am writing to request an emergency meeting of interior ministers to address the worsening humanitarian situation at our external borders. Frontex is facing increasing challenges in managing migrant flows and ensuring border security. The number of migrants attempting to cross into Europe has risen sharply in recent months. Unfortunately, humanitarian aid intended for refugees is often intercepted by criminal gangs, exacerbating conditions in overcrowded camps and creating public health risks. Contagious diseases like COVID-19 could easily spread if the situation is not brought under control. At the same time, border states are under immense strain from rising xenophobic sentiments within their populations.
