Commanders Award for Civilian Service
Kristin Donofrio
For her service leading a team of volunteers from the
Norfolk District to participate in the annual Clean the Bay
Day. The group removed approximately 3,135 pounds of
trash. Her personal efforts and initiative made a valuable
contribution to the Norfolk Districts involvement in our
community and the welfare of our employees.

Chris Turner
For his exemplary service as the Norfolk District Project Manager
leading up to and during OpSail 2012 Virginia. Mr. Turner
represented Norfolk District during committee meetings and
coordinated activities at the District for vessel dockage, historic Fort
Norfolk commemoration, visitor and dignitary access, and set-aside
areas for viewing the Parade of Sail. Mr. Turners excellent planning
and coordination of the activities resulted in an event which favorably
represented the District and Fort Norfolk.

Krista Sowers*
For her exemplary service as the Norfolk District Welfare Council
President from January 2011 through August 2012. While serving as
the highly motivated and energetic president of the Welfare Council,
she and her team planned and executed numerous successful events
that enhanced district morale. Those events included a well attended
off-site Christmas party, Engineers Day picnic and activities, a
Halloween costume contest, Valentines Day gift opportunities, bake
sales, and on-site craft fairs.
