Greetings Westgate
Community
Greetings Westgate Community,
I would like to introduce myself. I am Jeff Pawelski, your new Integrated
Services Social Worker. I am delighted to begin a new school year at Westgate
Elementary, and look forward to meeting my future students and their families.
As I make this transition to Westgate, I know that change can evoke both
excitement and trepidation. It is my goal to support students and help them to
become successful through team collaboration, parent involvement and
individualized care.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of
Illinois, Chicago, Jane Addams School of Social Work. I have spent the past ten
years working at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now known as the Ann & Robert
H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Department.
I grew up in Arlington Heights and have a strong connection to the
community. My outside interests include activities related to the outdoors. I
enjoy fishing, camping, gardening and traveling. Recently, I had the opportunity
to travel to South Africa and Japan, and I learned about other cultures. I feel that
sharing positive experiences is an excellent way to connect with students and
educate them about setting their own goals in life.
I look forward to meeting everyone at Westgate this coming school
year. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Sincerely,
Jeff Pawelski
