All About Ms. Banks
My name is Barbara Banks. I am the
mother of four fabulous children. I'm
also the nanny of five grandchildren. I
am a graduate of Belhaven University.
I have been employed in the education
profession for over twenty years. I am
looking forward to many more.
My Philosophy of Education
I believe that all children have the ability to learn and the
right to a quality education. All youths, regardless of
gender, race, ethnicity, and capabilities should have the
opportunity to learn from professional, well-informed
teachers who are sophisticated and knowledgeable, both
in their area of expertise and life. Certainly, every child
has different learning styles and aptitudes; however, by
having a personal relationship with every student, a
teacher can give each an equal chance of success. By
recognizing every student's potential and having separate,
individual goals for each, a teacher can accommodate
personal needs and abilities and encourage the pursuit of
academic aspirations. Therefore, I promise to try to
provide an honest, well-rounded education to every
student I encounter.

The vision of Clausell Elementary School is
to produce smart, hard-working, and well-
behaved scholars who will meet and
exceed district and state expectations.

Attendance Policy
 School attendance is very important to ensure
students do not miss vital classroom instruction
time. When students improve their attendance
rates, they improve their academic prospects.
 We are asking everyone to strive for less than
five absences during the entire school year.
 Mississippi law requires students to be in
attendance 63 percent of the school day in order
to be counted as present.
Homework PolicyHomework Policy
 There will be homework
Monday- Thursday.
 Homework reinforces what
is being taught in the
classroom.
 We are trying to prepare
them for the next year
gates test.

Weekly Folders
 Students will be given a Wednesday folder". The
folder will be handed out to students on
Wednesday with checked homework and tests
that must be signed and returned.
 The folder is labeled on the inside. Papers on the
"Keep at Home" side can be taken out and can
stay at home. Papers on the "Sign and Return"
side should be signed and returned on Thursday,
along with the folder. Students will be taking the
folder home on a Wednesday and returning it on
Thursday.

Khaki and Navy Bottoms
On special occasions students will wear blue
jeans but it will be announced.

  • 3. All About Ms. Banks My name is Barbara Banks. I am the mother of four fabulous children. I'm also the nanny of five grandchildren. I am a graduate of Belhaven University. I have been employed in the education profession for over twenty years. I am looking forward to many more.
  • 4. My Philosophy of Education I believe that all children have the ability to learn and the right to a quality education. All youths, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, and capabilities should have the opportunity to learn from professional, well-informed teachers who are sophisticated and knowledgeable, both in their area of expertise and life. Certainly, every child has different learning styles and aptitudes; however, by having a personal relationship with every student, a teacher can give each an equal chance of success. By recognizing every student's potential and having separate, individual goals for each, a teacher can accommodate personal needs and abilities and encourage the pursuit of academic aspirations. Therefore, I promise to try to provide an honest, well-rounded education to every student I encounter.

  • 8. Enter into classroom quietly. Listen and follow directions the first time given. Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat. Respect the teacher and your class mates. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. Classroom Rules
  • 9. Student BehaviorStudent Behavior ExpectationsExpectations 1. I will always do my best. 2. I will complete all assignments on time. 3. I will not use put downs or harass others. 4. I will respect other peoples differences and opinions. 5. I will actively listen when others are speaking.
  • 10. Attendance Policy School attendance is very important to ensure students do not miss vital classroom instruction time. When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects. We are asking everyone to strive for less than five absences during the entire school year. Mississippi law requires students to be in attendance 63 percent of the school day in order to be counted as present.
  • 11. Homework PolicyHomework Policy There will be homework Monday- Thursday. Homework reinforces what is being taught in the classroom. We are trying to prepare them for the next year gates test. Typical Night: Math Sheet Studying for a test Assigned Reading Reading/Vocab Packet

  • 16. Weekly Folders Students will be given a Wednesday folder". The folder will be handed out to students on Wednesday with checked homework and tests that must be signed and returned. The folder is labeled on the inside. Papers on the "Keep at Home" side can be taken out and can stay at home. Papers on the "Sign and Return" side should be signed and returned on Thursday, along with the folder. Students will be taking the folder home on a Wednesday and returning it on Thursday.
  • 17. Dress Code Clausell Elementary School Dress Code Gold, Green, white, and Navy Tops Khaki and Navy Bottoms On special occasions students will wear blue jeans but it will be announced.
