The document outlines four requirements for validating funding information in JATS articles: 1) Check consistency between funder labels and DOIs within funding sources 2) Check consistency between funder DOIs and labels within funding sources 3) Check consistency between the set of funder DOIs in article metadata and backmatter 4) Check consistency between funder labels in acknowledgments and DOIs in metadata It provides examples to demonstrate the requirements and defines schematron rules and functions to implement the validation checks.
