Giuseppe Moscati was a Catholic saint born in Italy in 1880 who became a doctor after his interest in medicine was sparked by treating his injured brother. He was renowned for his kindness, charitable work treating the poor for free, and contributions to science and medicine. During disasters like the 1906 eruption of Mount Vesuvius and a 1911 cholera epidemic, he risked his life to save others. Though coming from a scientific background, he was deeply spiritual and showed great faith and love for others. Moscati died in 1927 at age 46 and was later canonized as a saint in 1987 for his exemplary charitable works and medical contributions.
