Bangladesh has 24 television channels including 3 government-owned channels and 21 private channels. The first TV channel in Bangladesh was Bangladesh Television (BTV), which started broadcasting in 1964 as Pakistan Television in East Pakistan. BTV now broadcasts in full color and also has international channels like BTV World. Popular private channels include ATN Bangla, NTV, RTV, Channel I, and Ekushey Television. These channels broadcast a variety of programming including news, debates, dramas, reality shows, and children's shows. However, some channels struggle with political bias and lack of publicity.

- 2. First TV channel in Bangladesh : Bangladesh Television,also known by the acronym BTV,is the state-owned Television network in Bangladesh . It started broadcasting as Pakistan Television in what was then East Pakistan on 25 December 1964. It was renamed Bangladesh Television after the independence in 1971. Bangladesh Television broadcasts in full color started in 1980.
