The Bank of China was established in 1990 and is located in Hong Kong. It was designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei in a modern style that incorporates both Chinese design elements and glass and metal materials. The Bank of China has since expanded to become a leading commercial bank through acquiring and combining 10 other Hong Kong banks, and it now operates nearly 540 ATMs across the region.

Bank of China they are Bank of China Hong Kong
Branch, The Kwangtung Provincial Bank, Sin Hua
Bank Limited, The China & South Sea Bank Limited,
Kincheng Banking Corporation, The China State
Bank Limited, The National Commercial Bank
Limited and The Yien Yieh Commercial Bank
Limited, Hua Chiao Commercial Bank Limited and
Po Sang Bank Limited.
4. Architect
The Architect that made the Bank of china is
called I.M.Pei he was born in 1917. He went
to the US to study architecture when he was
17. In 1942, Pei enrolled in the Harvard
Graduate school where he studied Walter
Gropius six months later, he went to National
Defense Research Committee in Princeton. In
1948, William Zeckendorf invited I.M.Pei to
accept to be Director of Architecture in the
USA. Pei’s 72- story in Hong Kong and also did
the 4 seasons hotel in Manhattan.
5. What has influenced the bank of china
All the glass is there so it lets the light in and is
easier to make glass than finding wood and
cutting wood on the might make trees fall down
and kill people to make shutters because there
isn’t much trees in Hong Kong. It is partly
Chinese design because Hong Kong is in china.
The lights are so in the night people know where
it is and is very tall because loads of people work
there. The pillars support the structure to hold it
up.
