This document outlines the rules and schedule for Pride 2013. Key details include:
- Riders must follow instructions from road captains and not engage in risky or illegal behavior like riding against traffic or under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
- The meetup is at 8:15AM to prepare for the 9AM registration and 10AM start of the parade, which ends around 11AM, followed by an after party.
- Proper safety gear like helmets is required and equipment can be stored on the gear truck. Riders should park bikes carefully after the parade and tip the gear truck workers. Respecting neighbors and cleaning up is important.
2. Rules
Bring your best attitude
Have FUN and be FABULOUS (because it really is fun)
Follow ANY instructions given by your Road Captains or
any Dyke on Bike.
No Asshatery
Do NOT EVER ride against traffic (pull to the side in
case of malfunction and do not obstruct the flow)
NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. NONE.
If you are even suspected of being under the influence you
will be asked to leave by organizers and police.
We are guests and please abide by all rules or the penalty is
that we are ALL disinvited for ANY future events.
3. Schedule
8:15AM Meet at 100 Lundys Lane
NO REVVING, BURNOUTS, ASSHATERY. We like
our neighbors and they like us.
8:45AM Kickstands up. Dan and Alex will lead the
group to registration at Market between Stuart
and Spear.
9:00-9:45AM Registration and line up.
10-10:15 Lightem up! Parade Starts
11AM ish (or sooner) Parade ends.
After party starts at 100 Lundys Lane.
4. Route
The group will
bunch around
7th and
Market. Go
as far up as
possible
before
parking and
gather your
things. Park
your bike on
the outskirts
to make a
quick
getaway after
the parade.
5. Meet-up 8:15-8:45AM
Park your bike on the plaza at 100 Lundys Lane.
Please leave any excess gear in the house and claim your
T-Shirt if you have ordered one.
Dan and Alex will lead the group to Registration.
Please self-organize (motards, fairies, etc)
NO ASSHATERY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
You must wear a helmet TO the parade.
Bring some dollars to tip the gear truck.
Do not attract the attention of law enforcement.
I dont have money for bail.
Ride time is 10-15 minutes to Registration
Try to arrive as a group. It will make it easier.
6. Registration 9:15-9:45AM
Please go to the registration table at Market&Stuart
with your PAPERWORK
If it hasnt been sent in you will need Insurance and DL.
The gear truck will follow the group and securely store
any gear you may not want to wear. You may have as
many boxes as you need.
Bring some dollars to tip the gear truck!!
Put your claim ticket somewhere safe.
After Registration, FOLLOW THE LINEUP CREW ORDERS
to our group. You will be guided to your spot.
REGISTRATION ENDS AT 9:45AM SHARP!
7. Parade 10-11AM(ish)
Follow the orders and commands of your Road Captains
Nakia, Roman, and Erin
NO ASSHATERY
You can Rev, honk, yell, flash, etc.
NO WEAVING SIDE TO SIDE STRAIGHT LINE ONLY
Keep with the parade pace, speed up and slow down as necessary.
Aim for a distance of 1 bike between you and the bike in front of
you.
Try to avoid gaps. Move with the parade.
Passengers MUST SIT.
Watch out for MUNI tracks, grates, press, and random pedestrians.
When the parade turns off Market Street please follow parking
crew and Road Captain instructions on where to park your bike.
8. Parking and Gear
11(ish)-11:30(ish)
Park wherever you find a spot. Bikes will be
double parking and the outer edges of the
parking area will allow for a quick escape.
Claim your gear at the gear truck and TIP, YOU
CHEAP BASTARDS!
Return back to 100 Lundys Lane whenever you
want.
9. After Party 12pm-?
NO ASSHATERY
Park with courtesy.
Do not block cars, sidewalks, or driveways.
Bring food or drink for the BBQ.
Safeway is within walking distance as are many Mexican (and
other ethnic) restaurants.
Road Captains deserve the right to eat or drink all they
want. Hugs are welcome too.
There is a perfect spot on the hill for a group shot once
everyone returns.
Get your stuff and get out! We will see you soon.
