Teams must meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify for the playoffs, including maintaining good sporting behavior and having a winning record. Players must have participated in regular season games to play in the playoffs. Overtime periods during playoffs will be three minutes with each team receiving one timeout, and overtimes will continue until a winner is determined. Officials are assigned to tier levels based on their evaluations and can only officiate games at their tier level or below.

2. In order to be eligible for the playoffs:
Teams must maintain a sporting behavior rating of 3.0
during the regular season and playoffs
Teams must have a record of at least .500
Teams must have 0 forfeits
Teams may not add new players to their rosters on
IMLeagues after their last regular season game.
Players must have competed in a regular season
game to be eligible for playoffs.
3. There will be a three-minute overtime period if the
game is tied after regulation time expires during
playoffs only
Each team will be allowed one time-out per
overtime period. Time-outs will not carry over
from the second half.
Overtimes will continue to be played until a winner
is decided
4. Spectator problems
A teams sporting behavior can be affected by their
spectators
Utilize team captains and warn them that if a spectator
continues to act out that they will be asked to leave and
the team will receive a technical foul
Under the influence
If you suspect a team or a player is under the influence of
alcohol or drugs, they must leave the SAC immediately
Stop the game and contact the IM Supervisor right away
5. Intentional Foul
A foul deliberately committed by a defensive player to
stop play; not making an attempt to go for the ball
Result: 2 pts and the ball awarded to the other team
Flagrant Foul
A contact foul intended to hurt an opponent; or a non-
contact foul involving vulgar or verbally abusive
behavior
Result: Player automatically ejected, 2 pts and the ball
awarded to the other team
6. Clocking in
Always plan on clocking in upstairs in the SAC
How to clock in under special event pay- semifinal games and
championship games are the only games that are special event pay. If
you are working a S.E. game it will be noted on your shift on W2W

7. All officials will be placed into tiers for the playoffs based on
regular season evaluation scores. Tiers can be found posted on
the Blackboard site after the last night of regular season IMs.

You are eligible to officiate games that are in your tier and
below.
All trades or pick ups that are outside of that games tier must be cleared by
Amanda(e-mail, text, call)
Shifts will be labeled on W2W based on the level of game.
Evaluations during playoffs may lead to officials moving
up/down in tiers.
8. Ifyou are playing on an IM team that has
made the playoffs, as soon as you know your
possible road to the championship, paint
your work preferences PINK for the times
you could possibly have a game!
Once the playoff shifts are scheduled, it is
your responsibility to get them covered if
you have ANY conflicts.
9. AllChampionship games will be played in
McGuirk Arena.
