Bates  College  Lewiston, Maine 2 nd  Annual Boston Finance Roadshow February 19 th  and 20 th , 2009
Program Overview The goal of the Bates Boston Finance Roadshow is to provide current students with the opportunity to meet and network with Bates alumni in various finance professions and explore potential career opportunities in finance The Finance Roadshow will be held during the Thursday and Friday of February break  February 19 th  and 20 th , 2009 10-12 Bates students from the sophomore and junior classes who have an interest in careers in finance will be selected via an application process to participate in the Finance Roadshow The Finance Roadshow will consist of six meetings over a two-day period at select offices of Bates alumni in the Boston area Morning, mid-day and mid-afternoon meetings on each day Hosted by Bates alumni in the finance profession Meetings will include career presentations, company tours, case studies and other educational programs orchestrated by Bates alumni hosts A networking event for students and Bates alumni will be organized for the evening of the 19 th   The Office of Career Services, along with select Bates alumni in the Boston area, have organized the second annual Boston Bates Finance Roadshow  an opportunity to introduce Bates students to a sample of the multitude of career choices in finance.

Roadshow Logistics The Roadshow will be lead by the Susan Moore, Assistant Director , Bates OCS and select Bates alumni contacts who are helping organize the event Transportation to and from Bates and to and from all meetings will be provided by Bates via buses or vans Meeting attire will be business casual The Roadshow will also feature a networking reception in the Boston area during the evening of February 19 th   The OCS will facilitate all of the logistics surrounding the Roadshow in order to make  it as easy  and efficient as possible for the alumni hosts and the students.
Selection Criteria & Application Process Must be either a sophomore or a junior with an interest in a career in finance Must have a formal resume that has been reviewed by the OCS Resumes of selected students will be circulated to the Alumni hosts prior to the event Answer the following 5 questions: Why do you wish to participate in this program and what do you hope to learn? What are the particular people, experiences, or aspects of the finance area to which you would like to be exposed? List and briefly describe any campus activities, summer/school year jobs, and other internships you have had which may or may not relate to this opportunity. What else should we know about you that will help us select you for this program? Have you participated in other OCS programs?  What were they? Application process and timing Applications due to the OCS on Sunday, January 31 st   Selections will be made and students will be notified during the week of February 1 st   Information packages on companies and meetings will be provided to students by the week of February 9 th   The goal of the program is to provide  career enhancement opportunities to the Bates students that are most interested in a career in finance.
Why Participate in the Program?
