BCIX is a nonprofit internet exchange point founded in 2002 that operates three switch locations in Berlin. It has over 100 members and traffic of around 6 gigabits per second. In 2009, BCIX upgraded equipment to support higher port speeds including 10 gigabit connections. It also gained 12 new members and participated in several industry events to engage with the networking community.
