This document discusses methods for evaluating bearing loading conditions in rotating equipment. A system approach allows for detailed modeling of housing and bearing geometries as well as multi-shaft systems, but requires calculation software and bearing internal geometry details. A simpler beam model approach needs less application details but does not account for housing ovalization effects. Dedicated software running on a PC can be used for the beam model approach.
