God's message of love was first communicated to people through events in their lives and passed down orally for generations. Eventually, the stories, sayings, songs, gospels and letters containing this inspired message were written down. Over centuries, these written works were compiled and agreed upon, forming the 73 books of the Bible as we know it today.
