The Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Museum and Documentation Centre in Ulundi, South Africa will officially open on August 28, 2015. The museum aims to educate visitors about the life and legacy of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi through various exhibits highlighting his roles as a traditionalist, royalist, conservationist, and speaker. Museum chairperson Zuzifa Buthelezi said the center would reveal many facts about Prince Buthelezi's life to those familiar with him as well as those who are not. The Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Museum
and Documentation Centre’s official opening
was announced during a media conference
at the Protea Edward Hotel in Durban on
Friday.
On the 28th of August 2015, the Prince
Mangosuthu Buthelezi Museum and
Documentation Centre will officially be
opened in Ulundi.
The purpose of the museum is to put together different chapters of his life as he his known to many as a
traditionalist, royalist, conservationist as well as a speaker.
The museum will also be used as a tool to educate the youth about Prince Buthelezi’s legacy.
Addressing the media, Zuzifa Buthelezi, chairperson of Mangosuthu Buthelezi Museum and Documentation
Centre, said that the museum will disclose interesting facts about Prince
Buthelezi’s life to people who know and do not know him.
“The centre has been created to reveal the many different facets of the man.
Traditional prime minister to the Zulu monarch and nation. Internationally acclaimed Conservationist, head of the
Buthelezi Clan, believer in Christ, warrior in the fight against HIV and Aids and friend to world leaders,” said
Buthelezi.
Mpikayise Buthelezi, who is Prince Buthelezi’s deputy, said that the Prince was overwhelmed when he received
the news.
“Prince Mangosuthu was very excited when he found out about the project, we certain he is looking forward to the
opening of the centre next week,” said Deputy Buthelezi.
This comprehensive collection will be invaluable for researchers, historians, academics and anyone interested in
seeing the past with their own eyes.
Members of the public are invited to attend the opening of the centre.
