ANNOTATE Expert curators oversee the BioCatalogue and provide high quality metadata The wider community participates in this effort through social curation by describing, recommending, tagging, and commenting on services "Web Services are volatile..." MONITOR Web Services change their location and capability, or become outdated The BioCatalogue monitors Web Services and records historical data on the availability, reliability and functionality of these services The BioCatalogue is an open source project (BSD licensed) built mainly using Ruby on Rails in an agile and user-driven fashion.
