Aryas eLearning characteristics
 Tech-savvy: As a millennial Arya loves
technology and knows how to use it to her
benefit socially and educationally
 She expects her instructors to understand
and use technology
 Multi-tasker: Arya likes to slice through
multiple tasks as a means to stay engaged
and accelerate her learning
 Arya prefers to learn with pictures, sound
and videos instead of scrolling through text.
Meet Arya Stark a Rio Salado eLearner
 Arya initially attended an in-person
community college
 The classroom was traditional and
didnt utilize technology or any
interactive learning strategies
 Arya grew bored and unsatisfied due to
few opportunities to collaborate or
explore topics in a way that interested
her
 The traditional class schedules conflict
with her work schedule
Aryas Educational Journey
 Wants hands on learning
experience with real-life examples
and activities
 Collaborate with other students
on projects and assignments
 Tech-savvy instructors that will
use social media and Web 2.0

need to accelerate her learning by having the opportunity to

 In the end Arya felt like part of the pack and less like a lone wolf
in the classroom
