Blogs can be an effective learning tool for students. They allow for participation in online discussions and improvement of writing skills through regular blog posts. However, blogs also present some drawbacks, such as a lack of confidentiality and inability to have real-time conversations. For the student's situation, blogs could be useful for creating group discussions related to online courses and allowing students to share knowledge externally through their own blogs. Overall, blogs are an important tool in emerging technologies that can benefit both professional and personal use.

BlogWikipedia defines blog as: a type of website, usuallymaintainedby an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.A blog can also be a shared online journal where people can post daily entries about their personal experiences and hobbies.
A related Web information sharing technology is the ‘blog’. A blog (WeBLOG) is a Web site that contains dated entries in reverse chronological order (most recent first) about a particular topic.*Functioning as an online journal, blogs can be written by one person or a group of contributors.Blogs are online diaries so that they are updated daily.
Why I chose blog ?Blogs don’t need technical things (they are user friendly) when a blogger need online publication so that coding like on websites is not used.To initiate a dialog with readers. I could do it with my blog post, asking a question or by inviting comments and interaction. My blog will be read by an audience that’s already interested in my subject or theme. Blogs are priceless
ProsBlog sites used as online class forums enables students with various personalities to participate in a discussion far more effectively than they can otherwise.Blog sites can be developed with the help of simple procedures.A blog post goes public, in other words, it can be accessed and read by almost everyone who have an access to internet.The usage of blogs are very convenient, hence people tend to use them more frequently.
Students tend to improve their writing skills as blog articles should be reasonably good enough and free grammatical mistakes.Students get into the habit of writing, which helps them in all their future endeavors.
ConsWith digital footprint blog may affect your digital identity so others may explore or affect our identities.One major drawback is that not all information can be shared on blog sites. Hence may not be useful for everyone.Blogging cannot be thrusted upon students who are hardly interested in reading and replying to the post.Blogging on day to day issues is different from writing on the subject. Hence it may not be a practical idea to force them to do it.
We were talking individual blogs linked to the groups website, while it is good for students to have their own blog sites, remember not all may be able to participate, unless, all the comments are seen in one common blogging site.There is no confidentiality as it is a public forum.It can no way be related to conversation, as there is always a time gap in the replies received.
Applicability and support to my situationIn my institution (KHI) blogs is most important as we can create group discussions related to some online courses.Students also can create their own blogs so that they can share knowledge with outside
ConclusionBlogs are very important as one of tools in emerging technology as it is a web based learning tool, it is a helpful in my professional life as well as day to day life.
