Newton's three laws of motion describe the relationship between an object and the forces acting on it, and how it responds to those forces. The first law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. The second law establishes that acceleration is directly proportional to force and inversely proportional to mass. The third law explains that for every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force.
Newton's three laws of motion are summarized as follows:
1) Newton's first law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
2) Newton's second law explains that the acceleration of an object depends on the net force acting on it and its mass, such that greater net force or less mass results in greater acceleration.
3) Newton's third law specifies that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, such that no force goes unopposed.
The document is a lesson plan for a physics class that aims to teach students about fluid pressure. It includes objectives, concepts, materials, and procedures. The key concepts are that fluid pressure is the same in all directions at a given point due to liquids taking the shape of their container, and that pressure increases with depth according to the equation Pressure=D*g*h, where D is density, g is gravity, and h is depth. Students will learn through activities with water, bags, and bottles, as well as solving sample problems involving density and depth.
Lesson plan - Newton's first law of motionHarleen Singh
油
The document outlines a two-lesson plan on Newton's First Law of Motion for a 9th grade physics class. The lessons aim to help students understand and apply the concept of inertia through hands-on activities and designing their own demonstration. In the first lesson, students will perform three activities - flick a coin on a card into a tumbler, flick a coin to displace a stack of coins, and observe a toy rolling down a ramp - to observe inertia. They will then analyze the observations and discuss Newton's First Law. As homework, students will design their own demonstration activity. In the second lesson, each group will demonstrate and test their activity design while being evaluated on a rubric.
- Sir Isaac Newton formulated his three laws of motion in his book Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica published in 1687.
- Newton's First Law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
- Newton's Second Law states that the acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
- Newton's Third Law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
This PowerPoint presentation introduces social science. Social science uses various research methods to critically examine and analyze different social phenomena and issues. PowerPoint presentations are an effective way to present information and findings from research studies. The presentation notes that PowerPoint can be used for group discussions, presenting research findings, highlighting important concepts, conducting educational studies, analyzing historical events, and informing citizens. It then distinguishes between theoretical PowerPoint presentations, which focus on abstract concepts like politics and philosophy, and applied PowerPoint presentations, which examine practical subjects like health, education, and sociology. In closing, the presentation thanks the audience.
1. Soil erosion is occurring in agricultural lands near villages, causing soil particles to enter water sources. This leads to siltation of reservoirs.
2. Agricultural activities and development work are causing soil particles from surrounding lands to enter local water bodies. This results in the formation of deltas.
3. Over time, these deltas expand and merge with one another to form new land masses.

India faces several economic issues including overpopulation, poverty, and lack of sanitation. A forced sterilization program in the 1970s failed to control population growth. Approximately 22% of Indians live below the poverty line according to the Indian government. Lack of sanitation facilities leads to many preventable deaths, especially among children, and costs India billions annually in economic losses. The government has implemented various programs to improve sanitation access with a goal of universal access by 2017 through education, incentives, and infrastructure development.

This document provides instructions for a candle science magic trick using baking soda, vinegar, and a glass. Mixing baking soda and vinegar in a glass produces carbon dioxide gas. Pouring the carbon dioxide gas from the glass onto a candle will extinguish the flame, as the heavier carbon dioxide sinks and replaces the oxygen-rich air around the candle, suffocating the flame. The document also briefly describes using a gallium spoon that melts in hot liquid as another classic science-based magic trick.

Galileo Galilei discovered the simple pendulum in the early 1600s. A simple pendulum consists of a point mass suspended by an inextensible thread with no friction that is free to oscillate. The key factors that determine a simple pendulum's motion are its length, mass, oscillation, equilibrium position, amplitude, period, and frequency. The period and frequency are inversely related, with the period being the time for one full oscillation and the frequency being the number of oscillations per second.

PEST OF WHEAT SORGHUM BAJRA and MINOR MILLETS.pptxArshad Shaikh
油
Wheat, sorghum, and bajra (pearl millet) are susceptible to various pests that can significantly impact crop yields. Common pests include aphids, stem borers, shoot flies, and armyworms. Aphids feed on plant sap, weakening the plants, while stem borers and shoot flies damage the stems and shoots, leading to dead hearts and reduced growth. Armyworms, on the other hand, are voracious feeders that can cause extensive defoliation and grain damage. Effective management strategies, including resistant varieties, cultural practices, and targeted pesticide applications, are essential to mitigate pest damage and ensure healthy crop production.

Battle of Bookworms is a literature quiz organized by Pragya, UEM Kolkata, as part of their cultural fest Ecstasia. Curated by quizmasters Drisana Bhattacharyya, Argha Saha, and Aniket Adhikari, the quiz was a dynamic mix of classical literature, modern writing, mythology, regional texts, and experimental literary forms. It began with a 20-question prelim round where star questions played a key tie-breaking role. The top 8 teams moved into advanced rounds, where they faced audio-visual challenges, pounce/bounce formats, immunity tokens, and theme-based risk-reward questions. From Orwell and Hemingway to Tagore and Sarala Das, the quiz traversed a global and Indian literary landscape. Unique rounds explored slipstream fiction, constrained writing, adaptations, and true crime literature. It included signature IDs, character identifications, and open-pounce selections. Questions were crafted to test contextual understanding, narrative knowledge, and authorial intent, making the quiz both intellectually rewarding and culturally rich. Battle of Bookworms proved literature quizzes can be insightful, creative, and deeply enjoyable for all.

Sustainable Innovation with Immersive LearningLeonel Morgado
油
Prof. Leonel and Prof. Dennis approached educational uses, practices, and strategies of using immersion as a lens to interpret, design, and planning educational activities in a sustainable way. Rather than one-off gimmicks, the intent is to enable instructors (and institutions) to be able to include them in their regular activities, including the ability to evaluate and redesign them.
Immersion as a phenomenon enables interpreting pedagogical activities in a learning-agnostic way: you take a stance on the learning theory to follow, and leverage immersion to envision and guide your practice.
