ï‚— Most colleges and
universities encourage
online applications.
ï‚— Some universities have
not made a transition to
online applications for
international applicants.
1. Official, original transcripts of all secondary school
work, including results of standardized
examinations, must be in English.
2. One letter of academic recommendation
3. A personal essay or statement – an opportunity to
get to know student as a person, 250-500 words in
length.
4. English language test (TOFEL or IELTS scores)
5. Copy of passport
6. Bank statement with full address
ï‚— All international students must show English
proficiency through TOEFL or IELTS tests. TOEFL
is most common. Acceptable scores for
undergraduate admissions range from 61 – 80,
depending on the university. IELTS scores range
from 5.5 to 6.0.
ï‚— Students who completed O-Level English with a C
grade may be accepted without TOEFL/IELTS.
ï‚— IB students who completed English Higher or
Standard Level may be exempted from taking
TOEFL/IELTS.
This provides assurance
that once a student has
met the college or
university’s English
language requirement,
s/he will be allowed to
begin an academic
course of work.
Sometimes, TOEFL
tests are not required
for conditional
acceptance.

years.
