Jen Matson presented at the Midwest UX Conference on bridging the mobile design gap. She discussed common mobile design failures such as content that is not optimized for mobile, slow page loads, and inappropriate QR code scans. Her lessons focused on the importance of content strategy, restraint in design, performance, flexibility, progressive enhancement, and adapting to different capabilities. She advocated for hardware hacking, a path of least resistance, and learning from mistakes. Matson concluded by encouraging designers to try different perspectives and share their errors in order to improve mobile design.
