Organization:
 Bird inn poultries is one of the leading
group in the poultry sector. It have its
own broiler breeder and hatchery units.
 I have joined the bird Inn poultries as
internee.
 Company started his buisness from two
sheds namely Dinna Natt or B1. Now
company have 11 units named as
B1,B2..B11 which consist of more then
35 sheds. At present 9 veterinary doctor
works in the company.

 Formaline@30 litter/shed.
 After chemical washing seal the whole
shed.
Routine Practices at Farm:
Bio Security:
 All procedures used to prevent the
introduction and spread of disease.
Objectives :
 prevent the entry of disease
 control the spread of disease

Reduces risk of zoonotic diseases
Limits the spread of diseases
Helps protect the public health
Improves the overall flock health
Cuts costs of disease treatment
Reduces losses and improves profitability
Feeding:
 Feed have three types
 Starter(mash) 0-7 days
 Grower(palette) 8-18 days
 Finsher(crumble) 19-42 days
During 1st week bird taking feed
according to 4gm.
 Next 3 weeks bird taking feed according
to 4.2gm.
 up to 42nd day bird taking feed according
to 4.5gm
 Feed cal./bird=Age*factor(how much feed
given to the bird in grams)
e.g on 4th day bird feed
=4*4
=16gm Feed
cal./30000 bird=Age*factor*bird in thousands
e.g on 14th day feed
=4.2*14*30
=1764kg/50
=35.28bags

Watering:
 Level of water line
 Pressure of water
 Drainage of water lines
 Feed water
1kg 3litter(summer)
1kg 1.6-2litter(winter)
 During early stage bird should drink water
at 35-45 degree angle of neck and in
maturity stage at 60 degree angle of neck
.
 The water pH is slightly acidic i.e 6.8
 Water consumption increase by 6% for every
increase in 1 degree temp. b/w20-32C.
 Water consumption increase by 5% for every
increase in 1 degree in temp. b/w 32-38C.
 Feed consumption decrease by 1.23% for
every increase in 1 degree temp.above 20C.
 The ideal water temp. to maintain adequate
water consumptionis 10-14C(50-57F)
Racking:
 It is very important to keep the litter
material dry and soft.
 It should be easily available ,soft and
economical to farmer.
 The racking should be done when air flow
is maximum.
 The litter material which is used are rice
husk,wood shaving or sand.
Calculation of Litter Material:
 One saqure meter having 3-5kg litter material
Dimensions:
Length 450ft =137.19m
Width 45ft =15.71m
Area=length * width
Area=137.19*15.71
Area=2155.25sq.meter
=2155.25*4
=8621kg
=8621/40
=215mann/shed
Ventilation means moving the right
amount of air at the right time and in
such a way to manage temperature,
humidity and other environmental
factors for optimum bird performance
 Maintain uniform temperature
 Remove undesirable gases ( CO2 3000
ppm, ammonia15 ppm,)
 Provide fresh air
 Remove moisture (1500 gall/day)
 Keep the litter dry (25 %)
 Keep uniform condition in the house
For ventilation purposes weather can
be divided into three types
1. Winter
2. Summer
3. Moderate weather
1. Winter (0-20 C=> Minimum
ventilation
2. Summer ( 35-52) =>Tunnel
ventilation
3. Moderate weather(21-34)
=>Transitional ventilation
Moisture holding capacity of air at
certain temperature. Its measured
in %. 40 to 60 % is ideal but the
chicks less than 38 g wt should be
kept on 70 to 80 % for 1st three
days

Catching:
 Catching starts on 42nd day mostly
 When catching truck enter inside the gate
sprayed the wheel of truck with phenol or
formaline.
 1st weight the empty truck on the scale and
note the reading.
 After loading again weight the truck and
calculate the average weight of the birds.

 Bird produces energy at rate of 10 BTU/kg/ h.
 Full grown broiler house of 30000 birds produces
600000 BTU/ h that is more energy than the 2 diesel
brooder

 0-10 days 33-(0.32 * age)
 11-20 days 34-(0.32* age)
 21-30 days 35- (0.32* age)
 31-42 days 36- (0.32* age)
 Note: dont go below 25 C
Heat stress index:
humidity + temp = heat stress index
1)40-60 %+ 33-30 C = 73-90 (ideal
2)50-60% + 33-30 C= 83-100 (good)
3) 71-80 % + 33-30 C= 104-120 ( bad)
