we offer. Major recent events included:
Bank of America SYEP Check Presentation (July 20,2017):
The Bank of America Charitable Foundation awarded a $31,800
grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County in support of
CareerSource Broward¡¯s eight-week Summer Youth Employment
Program. City of Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler, City of
Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy, and City of Pembroke Pines Mayor
Frank Ortis accepted the check from Bank of America Market
President Lori Chevy at the Marti Huizenga Club.
ICABA Business At Breakfast Event (Aug.10,2017):
CareerSource Broward attended the ICABA Black Business
Development Public Policy Breakfast to participate in a dialouge
related to employer services and entrepreneurship. Guest
panelists at the event included Broward County Administration
Bertha Henry,Greater Ft.Lauderdale Alliance President/CEO Bob
Swindell, and Broward County Office of Economic and Small
Business Development Director Sandy-Michael E.McDonald.
Broward Digital Divide Orientation Session (Aug.14,2017):
CareerSource Broward teamed up with Broward County to launch
the Digital Divide initiative ¨C a program designed to help connect
residents to digital resources by providing them with free
electronic tablets for up to six months. The tablets were
pre-loaded with links to CareerSource Broward¡¯s website, as well
as information on workforce development and career training.

by mass layoffs.
From January through September
2017, CareerSource Broward
conducted 447 recruitment
events, involving 198 employers.

Broward has assisted us with finding hardworking and
qualified candidates,and even offered financial support
to offset some of our training costs. Thanks to
CareerSource Broward, we¡¯ve been able to hire five new
employees who have become great additions to our
team! We couldn¡¯t be more satisfied with the results
we¡¯ve seen from working with such a fantastic agency.¡±
More than 540 participants
received employer-based training
from over 90 employers, totaling
