Tournament Overview The BTS Global Tournament is an interactive virtual learning experience designed for teams of 4 to 5  Participants run a simulated company in direct competition from teams from other companies around the globe They run the simulation over a period of 4 fiscal years with each member of the team acting in a top-management role The experience effectively builds business and financial acumen which in turn leads to significantly improved decision making capabilities  The tournament enables participants to plan around busy work schedules, and participate in state-of-the-art learning experience in a highly-cost effective manner
Learning Objectives The BTS Global Tournament will: Broaden managements perspective by providing a helicopter view of how different functions and lines of businesses within the company interact  Build broad, long-term strategic thinking Clear understanding of strategy and execution Explore short- versus long-term tradeoffs Develop an understanding of the key drivers of Shareholder Value Reinforce the drivers of shareholder value by exploring its components  primarily Revenues, Costs and Assets  and using them as the basis for decision-making Build teamwork between various functions and business areas Develop personal action plans to implement key learning points in the workplace
BTS Tournament Experience 4 Simulated Periods Business Simulation Online Pre-work & Case Tournament Introduction Interactive online knowledge sessions build on the simulation experience. Typical Know-how  topics include assessing financial performance and the drivers of value.  Participants in teams run a simulated corporation as its new executive team. The teams compete to execute strategy, drive KPIs and build value over several years. Feedback Sessions on simulation decisions and results during which real-life practices and issues are surfaced and team discuss the implications in context of their company's real world issues. Different theme for each simulation year.      Fast-paced, experiential do-reflect-apply format    Participants are provided with a copy of the simulation case study as well as interactive e-learning on financial acumen Introduction to the simulation experience is provided on the BTS Tournament Central website  Knowledge Sessions Feedback Sessions    Application Session Teams identify key learning points and discuss next steps for applying takeaways back on the job Follow-Up & Results 3-6 months after session follow-up and results measurement occurs; support tools are available START!
Business Decisions & Feedback Teams will also make business decisions to create a go-to-market plan. Once the plan is created with all business areas addressed, it is submitted to the marketplace. Then, teams receive feedback on how they performed in the market and the impact on KPIs, growth and profitability.
