The IOCO townsite in Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada. This old company townsite is a buffer between an oil refinery and Port Moody, a suburb of Vancouver; between an industrial past and a post-industrial future. "Buffer zone" is a proof of concept for a larger piece.

- 3. Imperial Oil¡¯s Townsite was a planned residential community developed in the early 1920s
- 4. In 1923, before there was road access, there were 81 houses
- 5. The refinery closed in 1995. Some houses were moved elsewhere, others have been boarded up
- 6. There are now 13 houses left. There is some maintenance of roofs and yards
- 8. No longer residential, but not a park the Buffer Zone
- 9. Not industrial, not renovated and not gentrified the Buffer Zone
