Refined food products - Additives such as genetically modified substances, food coloring, preservatives, sulfites, sodium nitrites, nitrates, hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, pesticides & MSG are unnatural toxic chemicals being put into our food that adversely affect the body by creating inflammation, suppressing the immune system & making it more susceptible to disease. Microwaving food, especially in plastic - There have been studies that show microwaving food changes the nutrient value and the cell structure of food and therefore affecting human cells. (Haas, Staying Healthy with Nutrition)
Irradiating food - alters the fatty acid content as well as creates agents such as formaldehyde and benzene, both cancer causing free radicals which set off chain reactions in the body that destroy antioxidants, tear apart cell membranes, and make the body more susceptible to cancer, diabetes, heart disease, liver damage, muscular breakdown, and other serious health problems. Commercial Dairy & Meat products - contain growth hormones & antibiotics. Dairy that has been pasteurized and homogenized has significant destructive effects on the body as pointed out by Ron Schmid, Thomas Levy, and Frank Oski, all of whom have written books on the topic. (Schmid, Levy, & Oski, 2003; 2001; 1996)
