To prepare a garden bed for planting:
- Add compost and manure to the soil and let it sit for 3 months to build healthy soil.
- Use a specialized fork to aerate the soil by digging and turning over the layers.
- Rake the soil smooth and remove any debris or weeds to leave the soil friable and level for planting.
