Using V+ Mobile App

1. Device Access
Boards can be set for Mobile and PC access and invitation is sent to the participants email
address containing two links. For 1st time users of the Mobile App the Respondent needs to
access their invitation on their Mobile. They need to first use the link provided to download the
VisionsLive App before they can access the Board. When they click on the link in an invitation
on the mobile device, they are taken to a new page. The new page contains a link to download
the V+ Mobile App.
Once the app is downloaded, the respondent can access the board by clicking on the link or by
entering the username and password provided into the login page on the app (first login).

2. Tutorial
When respondents first use the app they will be directed first to look at the Tutorial, so they will
know what to expect and how to navigate through the questions. This can be referred to at any
point later from the menu as they re-access the Board from their mobile if they need a reminder.

3. Respondents Profile
The next activity they are expected to complete is their Profile. If no profile fields are enabled the
profile will show as 0% complete. VisionsLive recommends creating profile fields for respondents
to fill in. Profile fields need to be short or it will not be fully seen. The profile may include a
prompt to optionally upload a picture or avatar of themselves.

4. The Board
Answer types of Text, Poll or Information
are available for the V+ Mobile App.
However, Whiteboard answers are not
available. Respondents can still attach
pictures and videos. For projects with
Device Access set to Computer or Mobile
Device, Whiteboard answer types will
present the message This question cannot
be answered using this mobile app.

Here are some tips:
> When creating the board, write the question in the question body box and write short question
titles. If not, the question wont be fully visible on the V+ Mobile App.
> For ethnography activities, VisionsLive recommends including at least one question per day where
respondents are allowed multiple submissions so they can post multiple messages, images, etc...
> You may want to include a Data Usage note (similar to the following):
Data usage: Your operator will charge you for the amount of 3G/4G data you use. If you are playing
media over 3G/4G and are unsure of the data costs on your tariff, contact your network operator.

Bulletin Boards - Using the V+ Mobile App

  • 2. 1. Device Access Boards can be set for Mobile and PC access and invitation is sent to the participants email address containing two links. For 1st time users of the Mobile App the Respondent needs to access their invitation on their Mobile. They need to first use the link provided to download the VisionsLive App before they can access the Board. When they click on the link in an invitation on the mobile device, they are taken to a new page. The new page contains a link to download the V+ Mobile App. Once the app is downloaded, the respondent can access the board by clicking on the link or by entering the username and password provided into the login page on the app (first login).   • 3. 2. Tutorial When respondents first use the app they will be directed first to look at the Tutorial, so they will know what to expect and how to navigate through the questions. This can be referred to at any point later from the menu as they re-access the Board from their mobile if they need a reminder. Using V+ Mobile App V1.3 Page 3 of 8 www.visionslive.com
  • 4. 3. Respondents Profile The next activity they are expected to complete is their Profile. If no profile fields are enabled the profile will show as 0% complete. VisionsLive recommends creating profile fields for respondents to fill in. Profile fields need to be short or it will not be fully seen.   • 5. 4. The Board Answer types of Text, Poll or Information are available for the V+ Mobile App. However, Whiteboard answers are not available. Respondents can still attach pictures and videos. For projects with Device Access set to Computer or Mobile Device, Whiteboard answer types will present the message This question cannot be answered using this mobile app. Please log in and answer on a computer.   • 7. Here are some tips: > When creating the board, write the question in the question body box and write short question titles. If not, the question wont be fully visible on the V+ Mobile App. > For ethnography activities, VisionsLive recommends including at least one question per day where respondents are allowed multiple submissions so they can post multiple messages, images, etc... > You may want to include a Data Usage note (similar to the following): Data usage: Your operator will charge you for the amount of 3G/4G data you use.
