1) Two students built a balloon powered jet car out of bottle caps, straws, skewers, and an index card to travel over 5 meters.
2) They had issues with the car veering off course and air leaking from the balloon.
3) Adjusting the straws and skewers and tightly taping the balloon to the straw solved these problems, allowing the car to travel over 5 meters as intended.

3. Abstract We built a balloon powered jet car using bottle caps as wheels, straws, skewers, a index card, and a balloon. When we first set the car off it kept turning. It would not stay on a straight path. So we adjusted the straws and skewers until they were straight. Another problem was air was escaping out of the the balloon because the tape was not tight enough. By taping the balloon to the straw over and over again it solved our problem and we got our car to go over 5m.

6. How to Build the Car 1.Take four bottle caps and drill holes in to the center of each of them. 2.Cut the skewer and the red straw in half and slide the skewers into each half of the straws. 3.Put the bottle caps on each end of the skewers. 4. Take the index card and tape in long ways onto the straws. 5.Tape the balloon onto the straw and check to make sure no air come through by blowing in to the straw. 6.Tape the straw and balloon onto the index card. Face the end of the straw toward the big wheels.
