     The Kharkiv-based Turboatom Company, one of the largest producers of turbine
     equipment, is prepared to supply turbines with capacity of 700-750 megawatt if
     Ukrainian nuclear power plants start construction of new power units on the base of
     the Canadian CANDU reactors.

     Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of Turboatom.
     Turboatom gave this position on March 15 during a visit of representatives of the
     Energoatom national nuclear power generating company and representatives of
     Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL, Canada), which owns the CANDU
     technology.

     During the meeting the parties discussed possible participation of Turboatom in the
     construction of new nuclear power units with the CANDU reactors.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of Turboatom. Turboatom gave this position on March 15 during a visit of representatives of the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company and representatives of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL, Canada), which owns the CANDU technology.
