- Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Bavaria's most famous castles built by King Ludwig II high in the Alps atop ruins of an older castle.
- Hohenschwangau Castle located in the same town as Neuschwanstein, built after Neuschwanstein was completed.
- Herrenchiemsee Palace, an unfinished palace on an island in the Chiemsee lake modeled after Versailles at King Ludwig II's request.

5. One of Bavarias and Germanys most famous castles
- Built by der M辰rchenk旦nig (the Fairy Tale king, K旦nig Ludwig II)
- Took 24 years to build
- Designed by K旦nig Ludwig II and opera architect Christian Jank.
- Built on top of ruins of a medieval castle called Hohenschwangau located in the town

-Built on top of the Schwanstein ruins by K旦nig
Maximillian II of Bavaria
-Started being built in 1833
-After Maximillians death became a
temporary home to Ludwig II and a
permanent home to Maximillians wife,

13. -The Old Palace (Herrenchiemsee Abbey) was established
in 765 at the northern tip of the Herreninsel by Duke
Tassilo III of Bavaria.
-The new palace was designed by Christian Jank for
Ludwig II modeled after the palace of Versailles.
-This castle was a testament to Ludwigs love for King Louis
XIV of France.
-Like the rest of Ludwig IIs castles (except Linderhof) is still
unfinished.
