This document introduces the topic of tourism in the Peak District National Park and the village of Castleton. It outlines that 1) many people are visiting "honeypot" sites like Castleton, which face issues from overcrowding, 2) the Peak District has various jobs related to farming, quarrying, forestry, and tourism, and 3) while Castleton's population has declined due to rural depopulation, it sees many visitors drawn by tourist attractions. Finally, it mentions that a field trip will be taken to collect data through surveys and use secondary sources to analyze tourism in Castleton according to the Butler Model and address questions about sustainability.

Honeypot sites are places with special interests which become popular with tourists and tend to
become overcrowded at peak times as a result. This leads to problems including congestion,
litter, inadequate amentities such as toilets, cafes, carparks
Rural depopulation is the movement of people out of rural areas and into urban areas, often
as a result of push factors such as a lack of services in villages and pull factors such as a better

Sustainability means meeting the needs of the present, for example developing tourism to
provide jobs, while conserving resources for the future.
