Eloah Rocha works as a youth counselor at Los Angeles Children's Hospital and participates in triathlon events around Los Angeles, including the annual Catalina Island Triathlon. Angeles, across the Gulf of Santa Catalina from
Huntington Beach, Catalina Island is the
location of the annual Catalina Island Triathlon,

3. ? Starting at the Green Pier at Avalon Bay,
triathletes race to achieve the best possible
time by swimming a half mile around the pier
and then cycling three circuits along the
Catalina coast for a total distance of 15
kilometers at a cumulative elevation gain of
477 feet. Following that, competitors run a 3.1-
mile course out to the Catalina Casino and
then up Country Club Drive to an altitude of
280 feet before descending back down to the
finish line at Green Pier. Male, female, and co-
ed heats are conducted during the triathlon
event, accommodating competitors from age
14 to over 80 years old.
