WHAT DO YOU SAY/DO ONCE
YOU HAVE ELECTED
YOUR REPRESENTATIVE
Ce final presentation_3
WILL YOU BE HAPPY IF THEY ONLY
COME BACK TO YOU WHEN THE
NEXT ELECTION IS CALLED ?
WOULD YOU WANT
A BIT MORE
MUCH MORE
INFORMATION ?
INTERACTION ?
OR
CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT ?
Obviously, one can
simply wait for
their six-monthly
paper report,
whizz through it
and throw it to
the dust bin
Or if the
representative has a
website, see
whether one can put
comments/reactions
to the news
provided by the
representative.

The main well of information is www.parliament.uk
The programme of sessions in both Houses of Parliament is available at
www.services.parliament.uk/calendar
Whatever the output, it is reported in
www.parliament.uk/business/publications/hansard
So, if you are really interested, you can get from your representative the date when a
question is to be debated, then once it has been done, see exactly what and how it has
been addressed, and possibly what was decided.
CONTACTING THEM? SURGERIES ?
MPs are at work in Parliament, usually from Monday to Thursday,
They can be contacted via email to
FirstName.Surname.mp@parliament.uk
On Friday and Saturday, they are in their constituencies and have regular
surgeries, when one usually can drop and talk to them. For example
XXXXXXXX's Surgery
Date: Friday, 13th March 2015
Time: 9am
XXXXXXXX holds regular surgeries for residents of YYYYYYYY constituency.
If you have an issue or concern and would like to see XXXXXXXX,

WHATEVER YOU THINK
be sure you know (if possible beforehand)
what your representative is going to decide
in your name
