The Texas outbreak has slowed down, but sporadic cases continue to emerge in Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
Elsewhere in the US, we continue to see signs of acceleration due to outbreaks outside the Southwest (North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado) and travel-related cases. Measles exposures due to travel are expected to pose a significant challenge throughout the summer.
The U.S. is on track to exceed its 30-year high for measles cases (1,274) within the next two weeks.

- 1. The honorable judges, and all the audiences, good morning. First of all, I would like to say thank you to Erlangga for holding this speech contest. Thank you for the opportunity that has been given to me.The theme of my speech is How to Face The Globalization Era. Before I start my speech, I want to ask you especially for the students that are here. Do you learn English in your schools? Of course, yes. That is one of the ways to face the globalization era. But, learning English is not enough for us to face the globalization. Globalization... Do you know what globalization means? Globalization is/was formed by the word Globe that is/was reintroduced as Global. Global means universal. So, globalization is the process of uniting the citizens of the world in which the process also consists of economy, technology, social and culture forces. Ladies and gentlemen, there is no territorial limitation in globalization. We can go anywhere, buy anything and learn everything easily because of globalization. We can easily recognize the advantages of globalization if we are ready to face it. For examples: We can work to any other countries without difficulties, if we have skill, if we have knowledge, if we have capabilities to work! We can sell any products made by our own creativity if the things have good quality. We can learn anything from foreigners if we can speak English, because English is an International language. If we are ready for globalization, we will feel that everthing is cheap and easily attained. Now,how about the disadvantages? Politic, economic, sosial culture will be influenced by others. We can not control.No one can handle all of the changes. Everything flows and changes quickly. For the examples: In the economic term There are so many countries that think that Indonesia is a good place for marketing products. And because of our foolishness, sometimes we are proud if we can buy them, we are proud if we have them, we are proud to use things that are made from other countries. Sometimes, we even think that import products are better than local products. Why we dont try to find the way to increase the quality of our local products instead of using those imported ones? Besides, there are so many companies that are established in Indonesia. Most of the machines are made from foreign countries. Why? Because we never try to make them. We only know how to use them. Those our weakness. How pitiful we are... In the social culture In globalization, Indonesians young generation prefer to learn, practice and study the cultures from foreign countries. Cultures like break dance, hip hop music, free sex, drugs abuse! Are those our REAL cultures??? Ladies and gentlemen, I as one of Indonesias young generation hope that we can, hand in hand, together, facing the globalization without leaving the identity of our nation, our real character. We should use and love local products, and even help to increase the quality. Why not? We have many human resources and much natural resources. We only need to realize that we are in globalization era and we are not ready to face it. Change our mind, we must go ahead. Like Thomas Friedman said In globalization era, we must be further, faster, cheaper and deeper So ladies and gentlemen, be a genius, wise, creative, innovative and efficient person.
