This document provides instructions for making slides of onion cells and cheek cells to view under a microscope. The steps are to peel a thin layer of onion, scrape the area with a cotton bud and place it on a slide, then add iodine. For cheek cells, scrape the inside of the cheek with a cotton bud, place it on a separate slide, and add methylene blue. Both slides should then have excess liquid blotted off and a cover slip lowered onto the sample.
