This document compares student behaviors now with digital technologies versus in the past without technologies. It notes that while the means may be different, the behaviors themselves such as bullying, sneaking inappropriate content, passing notes, making excuses, role playing violence, wasting time, and cheating have always existed in different generations of students. It quotes sayings that suggest that there is nothing truly new, that the more things change the more they stay the same, and that each generation feels wiser than the past but not the future.

There is no new thing under the
sun.
or that...
The more things change, the more
they remain the same.

intelligent than the one that went before it,
and wiser than the one that comes after it.
