The cerebrum is the largest and uppermost part of the central nervous system. It is divided into two hemispheres separated by the medial longitudinal fissure and connected by the corpus callosum. Each hemisphere has four lobes - frontal, parietal, occipital, and temporal. The cerebrum contains motor, sensory, and association areas that control bodily functions and processes sensory information. It is composed of gray matter on the outside forming the cerebral cortex, with inner white matter and basal ganglia.
