Editor's Notes
This is our CFA Ambassador mission statement. Our mission however provides just a glimpse in describing the great things that our Ambassadors do each week. Our CFA Ambassadors embody the best that CFA has to offer.
Each weekend at shows around the globe, CFA Ambassadors are in attendance and demonstrated consistently that they have been ready and willing to work. At present, we have over 300+ Ambassadors reaching out to spectators each weekend.
We would like to thank our sponsor, IAMS for funding our CFA Ambassador U.S. and International programs. What does it mean to have a sponsor?
You can spot a CFA Ambassador wearing a smile along with his/her CFA Ambassador ASK ME Button. These are Ambassadors from a show in Maryland and Regional Coordinator from Region 1, Geri Fellerman.
Ambassadors are ready and willing to answer questions, provide direction, conduct tours, and share the passion for cats and cat showing. This is our Asian and Latin America Regional Coordinator, Phebe Low as she is conducting a tour and answering questions at an Ambassador Spectator Booth and Takako Kojimi, one of our RCs from Japan with her Ambassador Banner.
Here I am at the Houston Cat Club answering questions at a CFA Booth. And Japans RC, Hiroshi Shinmoto at his Ambassador Booth.
Ambassador cats provide a great way for spectators to touch the cats and to get to know the breeds of cats in CFA.
This is our Ambassador Cat, Miss Heaven, from Region 1 entertaining a young spectator. And Gomez, another Ambassador Cat entertaining a spectator.
To Date: We have 22 Ambassador Coordinators in the U.S. and abroad. None of our efforts would be accomplished without our dedicated regional coordinators who track and organize activities. This is Mariane Toth from Region 4, Mary Sietsema Region 2 with CFA Judge Barbara Jaeger, Karen Lane and Lyn Knight, Regional Coordinators from Region 7. Each month our regional coordinators send monthly reports of his or her regions show activities: Activities such as: From Karen Helmold, Having a spectator accompany her to the ring and being asked to carry back the show kitty to its cage . Or being able to field specific questions or refer a spectator to a breeder in the show hall or to look at a spectators picture of his or her cat. Lyn Knight did a great event this past August at a show in Maryland where she had a voting contest for the the spectator favorite.
In Europe we have Dr. Olivier Grin and Aleksjes Dergachous in Switzerland; Natalya Gnatyuk from Russia and Henny Wintershoven from the Netherlands. We also have Le Ann Rupy in Italy. Wed like to thank our RCs from Europe, can you please stand?
I am following the advice of Phebe Low our RC from HK when I asked her her secret to getting so many Ambassadors signed up in a short period of time. SHE ASKED! Consider yourself asked!! At their shows in Hong Kong, there is an actual AP counter right by each entrance so that spectators can ask questions of Ambassadors.
Oftentimes, the Regional Coordinators get their spouses to assist. On the left is RC Donna Isenberg with her husband Bruce and Candilee Jackson with her husband Kirk.
There are only two things you need to do to be an Ambassador.
Our regional coordinators and Ambassadors extend our hands in friendship and open our hearts to all around the globe! As we are doing with each one of you now! Wont you join us?
