Mother Teresa was born in 1910 in Albania and became famous for starting the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India in 1950, where she cared for the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying for over 40 years. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work. She was an international symbol of charity and helped poor children in many countries through her organization, which operated in 123 countries at the time of her death.
