GM crops
There has been a controversial arguing between genetic modified foods and
conventional foods. Many people against the opinion of growing genetic modified
crops, while other people hold the idea that it has a large positive fact. Personally, I
agree with the second thought.
With the development of GM technology applying in the field of agriculture, the
more production is gained with less land that used for foods. By and large, GM crops
are safe; they grow quickly and have higher yields at the same time. In terms of the
distribution of benefits, GM crops help reduce serious environmental condition such
as controlling farm runoff that otherwise pollutes water systems. Furthermore, GM
crops involve enhanced quality traits like higher nutrient content. Moreover, a recent
stimulation shows that a kind of Golden Rice could reduce health problems
associated with vitamin A deficiency by up to sixteen percent in rice-eating
populations.
It is obvious that there are many potential benefits to using GM crops, which
could possibly eventually change the face of agriculture. GM crops can alters to be
insect which would allow for the use of fewer pesticides in agriculture practices,
creating less waste and a friendlier environment type of agriculture. They can also be
modified to be weather resistant, able to grow in colder temperatures and with less
water. Since less land is used for cultivating, more land can be arranged flexibly.
To conclude, GM crops have its many positive effects on agriculture. This GM
technology truly brings us new opportunities that we have never known before. I
have faith in this technology that it could facilitate more in the future.
