The document describes a case study of rebuilding a chimney on a 3-story grade 2 listed building in Wolverhampton town centre. The chimney was in a precarious and dilapidated state, with sections falling and the stonework and brickwork beyond repair. Scaffolding was erected and the chimney was secured before being carefully dismantled. The stonework was removed and remade by a local stonemason to the exact original requirements. The complete rebuild took 6 weeks and passed inspection by the relevant authorities, restoring the chimney for the next 100 years of service.

Chimney on a 3 storey Grade 2 listed

into constituent parts to check if
any of the brickwork was still
viable, we then removed the
stonework which was beyond
repair
