This document summarizes the findings of a study on factors that Developed to Developing International Entrepreneurs (DDIE) consider when evaluating opportunities in their home country versus their host country of China. It provides demographic information about the DDIEs interviewed in China, including their country of origin (29% from the US), city of residence (many in Shanghai and Beijing), age (average starting age is now 25 years old), gender (22% are now female), and education level (53% have post-graduate degrees). The document also discusses some of the key challenges DDIEs face in China, such as a lack of local social capital, understanding of government policy, and access to distribution channels.
