Choosing between the two is a matter of which attributes a user places more importance on. For users that play full-fledged video games and/or watch Blu-ray movies, the decision is easier (laptops, in case you were wondering). For more casual consumers, however, the choice is harder to make. In an effort to make things easier for casual computer users, below are the most pertinent deciding factors, along with which portable PC holds the advantage for each.

The Storage Space Smaller casings leave less room for airflow to cool heat-generating computer parts, so the smaller a computers chassis, the less powerful (and less likely to generate heat) its hardware should be. The Price At first glance, tablets seem to be the better deal, with most prices coming to around $500. Meanwhile, laptop prices can range from $400 to $2,000, depending on size and power level. A closer look, however, will tell you that pound-for-pound functionality-wise, both types of portable PCs are pretty much evened out. If youre really budget-conscious, you would be better off comparing the prices of laptops against other laptops; and the same goes for tablets. All things considered, with both machines, you generally get what you pay for.
